A REMAN DPF
- A remanufactured DPF is a used DPF that has been cleaned at a centralized facility after years of service. While a reman might appear to be a cost- effective purchase, you are paying a lot of money for an old filter with a completely unknown history. You don’t know its mileage, what trucks it has been on, or if it was damaged in the past.

Many companies that sell reman DPFs don’t recommend cleaning a reman DPF and instead suggest replacing the filter annually. Go figure.

To make top quality and reliable aftermarket DPFs and DOCs, Skyline Emissions pays close attention to every component. The DPFs and DOCs that remove pollution from your exhaust are built from multiple pieces, the core being the ceramic substrate.
The heart of the DPF or DOC is the ceramic substrate – that’s where heat is generated in the DOC and particulate matter removed in the DPF. But it takes a more than a substrate to do the job. You need:
- Components that hold the substrate tight in its enclosure (the mat) and protects the mat from exhaust gas (wire rope and retaining ring),
- An enclosure that is corrosion resistant and suitable for manufacturing,
- Parts that hold the sensors from the engine (ports for temperature and pressure sensors)
